Dr. Andrew Chin

Director

Born and raised in Singapore, Andrew is keenly interested in fisheries sustainability, livelihoods, collaborative research, and capacity building throughout the Asia Pacific and Australia. Andrew has over 25 years of experience in marine research and management. He has worked extensively with fishers, communities, and collaborators across the Indo-Pacific region, and with Indigenous ranger groups in northern Australia.


In addition to being the Director of the Fish and Fisheries Lab, he founded the Shark Search Indo Pacific citizen science programme, is an editor for Pacific Conservation Biology, serves on the IUCN Shark Specialist Group and the Conservation Working Group for the Convention on the Conservation of Highly Migratory Species (Sharks MOU) and is on the Scientific Advisory Board for the Save Our Seas Foundation.
